Can I migrate my customer data into Meisterwerk?

Yes. Customers, contacts, addresses and customer numbers can be migrated, as a rule in full. More important than the plain customer list are the links: which site belongs to which customer and which job to which site. We rebuild that structure during the import, because a customer list without its history is worth little in daily use.

Are old invoices and quotes migrated too?

Yes, as an archive attached to the respective customer. Old invoices do not move across as editable documents, which would not make sense for tax purposes either. They are migrated as files, so your office finds them in the new system without starting the old program.

How long does the switch to Meisterwerk take?

Two to six weeks from assessment to going live, depending on data volume and how well the legacy system exports. The cut-over itself runs over a weekend. The vendor quotes one to two weeks for the rollout, which matches our experience provided the data is clean.

What does Meisterwerk cost, and what does the migration cost?

Meisterwerk is billed as a subscription, with a base package plus modules and users on top. The vendor currently states an entry point from €49 per month for a package with three users. Please verify the current figure directly with the vendor. We bill the migration separately, as a fixed price after the free migration check.

Can we keep working during the switch?

Yes. Setup, field mapping, cleansing and test import all run alongside day-to-day operations. Only the live import needs a defined time window, which we usually place on a weekend.

What happens if data is missing or incorrect?

That surfaces during the test migration, not in live operation. That is exactly what it is for. Faulty records go onto a list and you decide case by case whether to correct, drop or archive them. The live migration only starts once you have approved the samples.

Do our technicians get an introduction to the app?

Yes, and separately from the office. The people on site need exactly the three or four actions they use every day, not the full job administration. That separation is the difference between software that gets used and software that is abandoned after four weeks.

Are you an official Meisterwerk partner?

No. IVIS MEDIA is an independent digital agency from Berlin and supports the move technically and organisationally. That has an advantage: we will also tell you when Meisterwerk is, in our view, not the right fit for your business. You sign the software contract directly with the vendor.

What Meisterwerk is

Meisterwerk is a modular trade software for businesses with one to around fifty employees. Its focus is on companies with a high volume of service, maintenance and repair jobs. According to the vendor it covers, among other things:

Customer management including sites and equipment
Job management and a planning board for scheduling
Quotes, order confirmations and invoices
A mobile app for field staff including time tracking
Digital forms with signature capture on the device
Documentation of site visits with photos and timestamps
A modular structure with features and users added individually

Statements about scope and pricing come from the vendor and change over time. We verify the current state together with you during the consultation rather than relying on a snapshot.

Who Meisterwerk fits

Honestly, no software fits every business. These constellations speak in favour of Meisterwerk:

Businesses with one to roughly fifty employees
A high share of service, maintenance and repair jobs
Many small jobs rather than a few large construction projects
Technicians who should document on site rather than back at the office
A need for a cloud solution without running your own server
A wish to start step by step with individual modules

It fits less well if you mainly run large construction projects with extensive variation management, or if you need deep production control. In that case we say so in the first consultation and look at alternatives. We would rather have a client who is still happy two years later than a quick project.

Migrated, either in full or for an agreed period such as the last three years, depending on volume.

Invoices and business documents

Migrated as an archive. Old invoices do not move across as editable documents but as files attached to the customer.

Files and photos

Migrated and filed against the corresponding customer, site or job.

Recorded hours

Migrated where the legacy system exports them. Otherwise the legacy data stays in the archive for reporting.

Custom reports and forms

Rebuilt. Reports from the legacy system cannot be transferred technically, so we recreate the logic behind them in the digital forms.

Accounting data

Stays in accounting. Instead we set up the ongoing handover to your accounting team or tax advisor.

Setup and mapping

Tenant, templates, field mapping

Tenant, users, roles, number ranges and templates for quotes and invoices are built in parallel with the field mapping. Anything without a counterpart is discussed rather than quietly lost.

Test import and sign-off

Verify in the test tenant

The data set lands in a test tenant first. You verify it against your own regular customers and approve it via a sampling protocol before anything goes live.
